Job Description

We create world-changing technology that improves the life of every person on the planet. Intel delivers silicon by applying reach, scale, and resources to deliver bold goals. And we're not doing it alone: we work with our customers and galvanize the industry for positive impact.

Our small team of accomplished researchers and architects shape the global PC ecosystem everyday - setting the standards, norms, and infrastructure for the entire client ecosystem. We begin with research by exploring the main questions: how people interact with technology, how it can enhance people's lives, and what are the most compelling experiences. Next, we translate those experiences into a set of technical requirements and capabilities: IPs, SoCs, Software, Packaging and Platform. Finally, we have the privilege of leading teams from across Intel to bring these technologies to market with our advanced factories, our partners, and customers from across the world selling hundreds of millions of units every year.

If you love to innovate, influence the direction of the PC industry, and help make the PC an indispensable tool for work, education, and creation - then this is the team for you. You will work alongside and learn from industry experts including Intel Fellows and Principal Engineers. The work is challenging. No two days will be the same. Architecting a solution to a real user problem and then seeing in their hands is an amazingly rewarding experience

  • Develops and drives end to end platform architecture by owning the architectural specification of the platform or board. Translates requirements, key performance, and key experience indicators into platform architecture encompassing hardware, software, SoCs, and other components designed to support a variety of systems, solutions, and applications.

  • Drives technical readiness of prototype platform design, creates design specification, develops block diagrams and/or high level designs, and specifies key components, as needed, to meet platform requirements including platform mechanical and thermal architecture.

  • Invents, conceptualizes, and specifies architectural features for next generation platforms and makes product technology and platform tradeoff decisions ensuring platforms conform to standards, specifications, and landing zones.

  • Provides experimental and proof of concept solutions for proposing design alternatives that meet performance, power, area, and timing constraints.

  • Reviews, challenges, and influences cross functional roadmaps and technology targets. Collaborates with other architects, design engineers, and validation engineers to improve the overall design of platform and overcome constraints.
