Optical/Wireless DSP Research Intern
Job Description
Join a team of researchers at the Intel Software, System and Architecture Research of Intel Labs at Hillsboro, Oregon or Santa Clara, California, responsible for research on future wireless and optical technologies. An important part of this research involves innovation in optical and wireless communication, implementing them on simulation and prototyping platforms, conducting experiments, and collecting and analyzing the data to support the research and development.
The intern is expected to contribute to developing wireless and optical communication system models, to explore the design space of wireless system and architecture for the future, formulating creative solutions, and conducting experiments on research problems. Also, the ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work independently on occasions when required.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related fields.
- At least 6 months of relevant work/coursework experiencein the following:
� Communication System modeling and Digital Signal Processing algorithms development.
� Simulation of wireless communication systems or modeling and/or implementation of wireless signal processing
� Programmingin MATLAB, Simulink, C/C++ for various physical layer system simulations
� Identifies as a Team-player and is motivated in contributing to various project goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
� 1-3 years of DSP or FEC algorithms development experience
� Track record of results in the form of publications or patents.
� Great communication skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate as well as work independently to deliver quality designs.

Working Model
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
