Job Description
The Employment and Labor Legal (ELL) group provides strategic legal support on employment law, labor law and immigration law related issues spanning the employee experience end-to-end; manages employment law, labor law and immigration law related litigation and pre-litigation; and conducts investigations.
ELL is seeking an employment counsel who will report to the Director of Employment Compliance and Litigation.
The employment counsel will be responsible, in part, for:
- Providing day-to-day legal support to business units and human resources on various employment and labor law related issues;
- Identifying and implementing legal compliance solutions to employment and labor law developments;
- and managing employment and labor related litigation and pre-litigation matters.
Qualifications
You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. This position is not eligible for Intel's immigration sponsorship.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate and active state bar membership in Arizona, California or Oregon
- 6+ years of experience providing: day-to-day legal support on various employment and labor law related issues; implementing legal compliance solutions to employment and labor law developments; and managing employment and labor related litigation and pre-litigation matters
- Significant knowledge of and experience providing advice on a full range of employment and labor related issues including, but not limited to:
- Wage and Hour, Recruitment, Discipline, Investigations, Terminations, Performance Management, Guideline Changes, Discrimination, Harassment, Retaliation, ADA/Reasonable Accommodations/Leaves of Absence, Competitive Hiring/Non-Competes, Workplace Violence, Plans related to Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities, Reductions-in-Force, Labor/NLRB, Separation Agreements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing timely, clear, strategic, pragmatic and creative legal guidance in response to urgent issues
- Experience proactively identifying changes in employment and labor law and implementing risk-optimized compliance solutions
- Experience influencing and working with cross functional teams on risk-optimized compliance solutions
- Experience working independently and collaboratively with team members geographically dispersed on projects in a fast-paced environment
- Experience synthesizing large amounts of information to a few important themes/issues and clearly communicating those issues to stakeholders
- Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritizing tasks
- Experience developing and presenting trainings on legal developments
- Experience demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills to senior stakeholders
- Experience managing budgets
- Experience managing strategic dispute resolution of legal matters, including, but not limited to, mediations, settlement conferences, negotiations
- Ability to travel to attend legal proceedings on behalf of Intel as needed and to travel to support other legal related projects
