SSD Systems Engineer

Job Description

Responsible for identifying and researching component & system level failures to improve product yield, quality and/or reliability. Evaluates the electrical and mechanical characteristics of integrated circuits, components, subcomponents, and systems to determine the root cause of failure. In addition to failure analysis, responsibilities may include integration of new firmware with new hardware, which will require close working relationship with the firmware developer to ensure intended firmware routines are compatible with hardware and performs as designed. Uses all standard electronic test equipment digital/analog such as Logic analyzer, ICE, oscilloscope, TDR and test systems to perform board failure analysis and debug. Performs other related duties as required or as directed.


Qualifications

Education: Candidate should possess a Bachelor of Science degree with at least 3 years additional experience or a Master of Science degree with at least 2 years additional experience, in Electrical or Computer Engineering. Minimum Qualification Minimum of 3 years of experience in printed circuit board design for embedded systems Minimum of 3 years of experience with embedded firmware, real-time operating system RTOS, and HW/SW interactions Minimum of 3 years of experience in programming with C, C++ languages Additional Required skills: Experience with Python to automate validation tasks Experience with power delivery design and debug Strong analytical ability, problem solving and communication skills Ability to work both independently and in a team environment Desirable Qualification Hands on experience with NAND based Solid State Drives SSD Design and debug experience with DDR, NAND, I2C, SPI, UART Experience with hardware/software debugging using logic analyzers and protocol analyzers
