Responsible for identifying and researching component & system level failures to improve product yield, quality and/or reliability. Evaluates the electrical and mechanical characteristics of integrated circuits, components, subcomponents, and systems to determine the root cause of failure. In addition to failure analysis, responsibilities may include integration of new firmware with new hardware, which will require close working relationship with the firmware developer to ensure intended firmware routines are compatible with hardware and performs as designed. Uses all standard electronic test equipment digital/analog such as Logic analyzer, ICE, oscilloscope, TDR and test systems to perform board failure analysis and debug. Performs other related duties as required or as directed.
