Job Description


Develops and/or reverse engineers PCBs with an emphasis on debug, rework/engineering change orders, QA/QC, and repair for hardware test/validation. Debugs and develops repairs for complex logic/analog PCB's, programming firmware, and Dedi programming for factory equipment parts. Uses knowledge of board development process and how a production quality product is delivered to recommend circuit design and board layout improvements that improve functionality, testability, and quality. Debugs, tests, reworks, and performs failure analysis on PCB Boards with metrology tools, oscilloscope, and/or multimeter. Troubleshoots tester failures, performs rework, and touch up. Follows detailed repair procedures and specifications, and accurately maintains repair unit records. Performs failure analysis and accurately documents the results in reports. Assists in engineering development, RFC/BKM development and continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications


Candidate must have at least a Diploma in electrical and electronics, mechanical, mechatronics, or related technical discipline. Typically requires a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience (debug/test/pcb rework) Preferably with experience in board repair industry. Candidate with experience in debug/failure analysis/troubleshooting or hands-on experience in test/rework/repair will be an advantage. Strong technical knowledge in circuit analysis of schematic diagrams. Able to read and interpret schematic drawings and understand assembly instructions. Strong technical knowledge in Debug, Test (Functional and/or In-Circuit). Must be able to read, analyse and interpret PCB layouts, component datasheets, rework instructions, common scientific and technical documents related to equipment specifications. Able to troubleshoot and repair functional failure board independently. Able to perform rework and/or soldering. Proven ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment. Ability to write routine reports, pass downs and correspondence.
