Job Description


We are looking for a collaborative and process-oriented Finance lead to join our finance team in Altera, an Intel Company (formerly PSG). Altera is the pioneer of programmable logic solutions, enabling system and semiconductor companies to rapidly and cost effectively innovate, differentiate, and win in their markets. Altera drives Billions of revenues through hardware sales, servicing thousands of customers through its network of distributors and direct sales.

On October 3rd. Intel announced that standalone operations for Altera are expected to begin Jan. 1, 2024, with ongoing support from Intel. Intel expects to report Altera as a separate business unit when it releases first-quarter 2024 financials. Over the next two to three years, Intel intends to conduct an IPO for Altera and may explore opportunities with private investors to accelerate the business's growth, with Intel retaining a majority stake. Your employment will transition into Altera, an Intel Company.

The primary responsibilities for this role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Sharing BKMs and cross training analysts across both groups, maintaining desktop manuals and efficiently ramping new analysts.

  • Collaborating with a broad team of talented Altera finance analysts across Central, Engineering and Product Teams

  • Developing automated reporting tools and providing timely and reliable data for decision making.

  • Collaborating with Altera Engineering VP/GM and Staff to drive business results, budget accountability, and maximum ROI and efficiency on money invested.

  • Providing timely and accurate forecasts and reporting for Altera Engineering investments of 500M.

  • Analyzing financial information to produce forecasts of business, industry, and economic conditions to make informed investment decisions.

  • Performing budget reviews with different levels of management to improve financial business decisions.

  • Providing Financial analysis support for ad-hoc strategy projects, closing the books, analyzing variances, and trends against budget.

  • Driving a strong environment of controls, ethics, and integrity in all that we do.

  • Refining Finance Master Data hierarchy structure of the Engineering team and respective purchasing controls.

A successful candidate will have proven experience demonstrating the following skills and behavioral traits:

  • Problem Solving- Identifies problems, root causes, and quickly develops solutions.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing, with an ability to communicate strategic and tactical concepts across a wide range of stakeholders, including Finance and Operational peers and Senior management.

  • Action Orientation - Pursues work with energy, drive, and a bias for action while maintaining focus and composure.

  • Data Analysis and Systems Aptitude to lead the engineering team through financial planning processes, while motivating them to achieve their budget goals and drive technical results for Altera.

  • Innovation- Takes calculated risks in finding new ways and perspectives to do things.

  • Partners: We build professional relationships based on trust, respect, and delivery of results.

  • Strong business partnership and influencing skills are essential within Finance and with Engineering partners, including proactive liaison across multiple groups and geographically disperse teams.


Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position.

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Business Administration, or related field with 4+ years of related practical experience in financial roles.

  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint.

  • Advanced English level.

  • Must have permanent-unrestricted right to work in Costa Rica

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

  • Experience with Power BI or any Data visualization or analytics tools.

  • Passion and knowledge for Driving process improvements, Automation, standardization, and business process management (BPM).

Working Model


This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
