Research System Engineer - Aerial Communications

Job Description

The candidate will be joining an advanced wireless aerial communication research team within the Wireless Communications Research organization in Intel Labs. The project focuses on improving the communication and control of drones a.k.a UAVs - unmanned aerial vehicles via innovation towards the future wireless systems e.g. 4G/5G/WiFi. The candidate will work within a small team on system design, simulation and analysis with the help of large-scale system-level simulations. The candidate will also have opportunity to participate/collaborate in standard contributions, field tests and IP development.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering with Communications/Computer Science background with relevant industry experience
  • Solid background on wireless communication systems, e.g. cellular systems 4G/5G, WiFi, especially on PHY/MAC layers 2+ years’
  • Experience with large-scale system-level simulations, and familiar with tools such as Matlab/C++ based simulation packages 1+ years
  • Solid understanding of wireless technologies such as interference mitigation, MIMO, beamforming, DSP, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Past industry work experience in wireless system design is preferred
