IoT Software Developer

Job Description

Interns will work with the Internet of Things Developer Experiences team to create Industrial and Commercial IOT projects, code samples, and documentation. Responsibilities will mainly be technical but could also be quite diverse. U.S. experience and education requirements will vary significantly depending on the unique needs of the job. Job assignments are usually for the summer or for short periods during breaks from school.

The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits:

  • Passion for IoT development Potential Projects:
  • Use Intel hardware, tools, software, developer kits, etc. to create: Code Samples, Reference Implementations, tutorials, and technical documentation Test and validate code samples, developer kits, etc.Deploy and document new IoT developer technologies


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
  • Must have a legal right to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience with:
    • Programming languages Python, C/C++
    • Comfortable using Linux OS
    • Project experience hardware hacking
    • Designing and building Internet of Things IoT projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience creating code samples and IoT project development.
  • Experience with sensors, embedded systems and electro-mechanical design.
  • Experience with Computer Vision hardware and development tools.
  • Experience documenting projects
