As a Software Engineer for FPGA Design Flows within the Software Engineering organization at Intel PSG, you will be part of a team dedicated to improving our FPGA tools and design flows. You will work closely with engineers across software engineering to develop design flows that meet our customers' needs. You will guide software release content and serve as a liaison with the field, marketing, and product planning. You will validate key customer use cases and design flows, which may include creating reference RTL designs and scripting tool flows. Intel PSG products continue to serve expanded market segments, including Intel partnerships, and our customer base demands additional design capabilities. For example, design flows must facilitate reuse and integration of IP design blocks as FPGA design teams get larger and FPGAs are increasingly used to prototype or emulate complex ASICs. This position will have a direct influence on our customers and the adoption of our products in new applications.Software Engineers conduct or participate in multidisciplinary research and collaborate with design, layout and/or hardware engineers in the design, development, and utilization of productivity enhancement layout tools and design rule checkers, electronic data processing systems software. Determines computer user needs, advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements, designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education, judgement and formal software process.
The successful candidate's minimum qualifications will include the following: Basic QualificationBS degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent 2+ years of experience Familiarity with FPGA and/or ASIC design flows, with Tcl and/or Python scripting skills Verilog and/or VHDL RTL skillsPreferred Qualification5+ years of experience Experience using and/or developing other industry EDA electronic design automation tools Experience with C++ and software development environments Strong written and oral communication skills Ability to influence across organization boundariesInside this Business Group
