Engineering Program Manager

Job Description

The Engineering Program Manager EPM is a go-getter, flexible and adaptable to changes in the business able to manage through ambiguity while aligning work priorities with strategic business directionEngineering Program Manager is responsible for managing the execution of high speed optical transceivers development programs . He/she is responsible for creating and executing the product development schedule in the context of product requirements and specifications, managing the communication of a large cross-functional team, and managing risks associated with product delivery. He/she will lead a transceiver engineering team that includes IC/optical packaging, hardware/firmware engineering, test and manufacturing supply chain as a communication liaison, and as such, must understand requirements, expectations, and pain points for all parties to help expedite convergence on the optimal design solution. He/she also creates and owns development schedules and timelines, helps identify resource needs, and creates and controls detailed budgets for each phase in the development process. Specific job responsibilities include:Oversee and guide the product development efforts from project initiation through initial production rampCreate schedules to understand work stream dependencies and sequencingClearly communicate expectations for work output and completion dates to technical team membersPartner with Mechanical, FW, SW, IC, Test, Operations, Quality to resolve issues and facilitate solution findingCoordinate parallel path design efforts as contingency planning for high-risk designsTrack and report on budgets and weekly progress towards development milestonesMotivate and inspire team members when needed to meet milestonesDevelop a strong positive work relationship will the all product stakeholders that is based on responsiveness, clear communication, and serving their specific product development needs at any given time


Qualifications

BS and/or MS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. 5+ years experience working with photonic technologies and/or hardware products. Have track record of successful end to end product development. Proven success with building strong relationships with internal and external teams. Excellent project management skills with the ability to create process and follow through clear and transparent verbal and written communication skills. Lead cost negotiations and margin engineering . Strategic influencer. Creative problem solver. Experience working with Asia-based manufacturers
