Sr. Sales Engineer (Data Science)

Job Description

As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will be a primary member of the deal team, shaping the sales cycle and the prospect experience. Responsible for an annual goal, you will win new business by:

  • Partnering with Business Development Managers on specific Opportunities.
  • Telling our story to and establishing personal credibility with c-suite executives and technical leaders. 
  • Implementing & delivering compelling custom demonstrations.  
  • Discovering the customer’s problem and available data well enough to develop a meaningful solution hypothesis.
  • Writing clean and clear statements of work, RFP responses, and initial design documents. 
  • Driving market insights and observations back into the organization.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field; Master’s preferred.
4+ years of experience as a software engineer or a data scientist.
4+ years of experience in sales engineering for enterprise software.
Fluent in a modern programming language (Python, Java, etc.), and related skills - SQL, JSON, XML, Http(s), RESTful APIs.
Conversant in Natural Language Processing and related tools (Stanford NLP, Apache OpenNLP, etc.).
Hands on experience with machine learning frameworks (Tensor Flow, Caffe, Spark, scikit-learn, etc.).
Working knowledge of public cloud services (AWS, Google, Azure, etc.).
Experience with a variety of data stores (relational, noSQL, graph, Hadoop, etc.).
Competitive! You know how to sell and you enjoy winning over a customer. This is a sales role (not just sales support).
Hands-on! You still like to roll the sleeves up, learn, and build!

Additional Desired Traits/Skills
Experience with specific domains - financial services, Department of Defense, aerospace, oil & gas, complex manufacturing, supply chain, etc.
Experience with industry-specific data sets.
You have the confidence to express your opinions and advocate for ideas that are unconventional or even unpopular, but possess the maturity and professionalism to value relationships more than you value “being right”.
You’re proactive, creative, and collaborative - finding ways to add value and thrive in a rapidly developing business environment.

Travel Requirements
Must be able and willing to manage up to 50% domestic travel.
