Intel's Silicon Photonics Product Division SPPD is currently looking for a Senior Optical Test Engineer to join the receiver Rx engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for lab testing of various passive and active optical and photonic components including discrete devices and integrated photonic Rx chips, and Rx subsystems for Intel's next generation high-speed silicon photonic products. You will work closely with component and module design engineers for component characterization, optical sub-assembly testing, and data analytics. This position will be multi-task oriented. You must have an excellent track record in optical device testing using various lab equipment. Be willing to work in a team environment and be able to communicate results with multiple levels of the organization. The ideal candidate should exhibit behavioral traits that indicate:- Strong verbal and written communication skills - Excellent problem solving skillsYour responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:- Develop test setup and test flow for optical device characterizations- Define test plan and characterize high-speed photo-detectors and Rx chips - Perform optical loss testing of passive components such as waveguides, couplers, wavelength multiplexer/de-multiplexer, and fiber-to-chip coupling - Perform optical Rx subsystem testing with electronic IC TIA- Develop test automation with optical fiber alignment and data collection
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through relevant previous job and/or research experience.Minimum qualifications- Must have a MS, preferably PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optical Science or related technical discipline- Minimum 3 years of relevant hands-on experience in high-speed optical & photonic component characterization - Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in optical testing of passive components using optical fiber system as well as free space optical setup and alignment Additional Preferred Qualifications:- 3+ years of experience with semiconductor lasers, electro-optic modulators, and PIN/APD photo detectors- 3+ years of experience with statistical data analysis and process- 3+ years of experience with RF testing using probe, VNA, LCA, and DCAInside this Business Group
