Systems Engineer

Job Description

Intel is seeking an Engineer with both hardware & software experience to join the Intel Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group team to help validate the next generation of Intel's industry-leading PCIe Solid State Drives

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Demonstrate technical leadership in owning SSD Product Validation Programs and delivering to commits on Execution milestones. Develop and debug system-level Firmware validation failures, test cases within a Python framework on Datacenter servers with PCIe SSDs. Execute test cases and review logs to determine pass/fail conditions and 1st step debug/triage. Troubleshoot test issues ​in both Linux and Windows. Work closely with internal team members such as Product Engineering, Firmware Development, Test Development and other Validation Teams to drive bug resolution. Communicate and train other teammates on newly discovered Best Known Methods. Drive improved validation methodologies, documentation, and automated testing within the team. This job requires a team player with good technical, planning, and communication skills who is motivated to deliver quality test results in a timely manner.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA or BS with 3 years' experience or a MS with 2 year experience in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in PCIe Protocol Debug Experience, and/or NVMe protocol and debug, including knowledge of relevant debug tools protocol analyzers, scopes, logic analyzers
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in the area of Storage, SSD Firmware or System level SSD validation
  • Minimum of 3 years of Python software development
  • Skilled in Python + 1 other language such as C, C++, PERL, JAVA, etc.
  • Minimum of 3 years of development and debug in both Linux and Windows environments
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in DOS and LINUX scripting
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in server level debug and fault isolation
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with building and using software based RAID

Preferred skills:

  • Experience in development for and/or use of storage devices such as HDD, SSD, SAN, and/or NAS
  • Understanding of NAND memory fundamentals
  • Validation or QA experience
  • Experience with Dual Port Storage Technology
