Thermal-Mechanical Architecture Manager

Job Description

Manage a team of approximately 15 mechanical/thermal engineers and technicians that are responsible for the architecture of server systems. The system architecture team works closely with silicon and product marketing teams to set system requirements. The scope of server architecture includes chassis design, thermal design, system board design, cable design, and motherboard layout support. The team builds prototype systems, and provides architectural specs for each server generation. The team works closely with the board development team and Power Supply Team to ensure the platform boards and Power Supplies are compatible with the system chassis and thermal designs. The management roll includes ensuring the team meets design requirements, cost goals, and system schedules. The manager also is a primary interface to the platform customers for system related discussions. As a manager you must, set priorities for the team, get results across boundaries, ensure an inclusive work environment, develop employees, and manage performance.


Qualifications

A BS Degree in  mechanical or electrical engineering  with 9+ years of experience or MS 

Degree  in mechanical or electrical engineering with 6+ years of experience is required

3+ years of management experience required

Knowledge of server requirements, development processes, and understanding of working in different geos a plus.
