Senior Manager Military and Government Application Engineering

Job Description

As part of Intel, we will continue to apply Moore’s Law to drive the future of field-programmable gate array (FPGA) technology.  The Programmable Solutions Group (PSG) has been delivering industry-leading custom logic solutions to customers since inventing the world's first reprogrammable logic device in 1984.  In order to take advantage of the many opportunities that we see in the future for FPGA’s, PSG is looking for a great Senior Manager to join and help lead our team.

The responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading the global Military Aerospace Government (MAG) applications engineering (AE)(MAG AE) team to enable and support MAG customer projects, secure design win with field teams, and provide timely resolution of technical roadblocks at MAG customers to ensure smooth transition into production
  • Manage MAG applications engineering technical issue resolution across all FPGA disciplines (including component design, High Speed IO, timing closure, IP integration, OpenCL, SoC), set priority with field, and assign resource for effective on-site support
  • Collaborate with factory applications engineering team to develop MAG AE specialties and effectiveness, contribute to technical collateral (Datasheet, user guide, application notes) and reference designs, demos and design examples)
  • Effectively work cross-site and with cross-functional teams to develop coherent strategies, policy, process and tools. Role model clear decision making and crisp communication to ensure the organization meets committed budget and plans.
  • Growing MAG AE around the world, work with Global Export/Trade Groups to create the reliable compliance processes and ensure PSG’s compliance with government export regulation and Intel policy in different regions of the world we support MAG customers


Minimum Qualifications

  • BSEE, BSCE, BSCS or related degree
  • 10+ years in semiconductor engineering, applications support, or customer-facing engineering role
  • Previous experience in a management role
  • Knowledge of Military Aerospace Government (MAG) customers and requirements, including International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and government regulations when dealing with MAG customers
  • Experience with developing leadership teams, stakeholder management, influencing and communicating across multiple teams

Preferred (Additional) Qualifications

  • MBA is a plus
  • Experience in FPGA, VHDL, SoC development, board design is a plus
