Automation Engineer

Job Description
Integrates, tests, installs, configures, and/or supports Factory automation software systems. Coordinates factory requirements, maps them to automation systems capabilities, and recommends technical solutions. Applies advanced troubleshooting to automation system problems. Drives continuous improvement efforts to meet automation systems health goals, as well as emerging capability needs. Serves as site expert for a designated set of automation systems, including representing integrated needs in crossfunctional and crosssite teams. Position may include some software development of related enhancements, supplemental systems, and/or support and monitoring tools.


The candidate must have a working knowledge of Windows and UNIX operating systems, and be able to provide good customer support. We desire a basic comprehension and knowledge of software development and basic knowledge of SQLs. This is not a Software Development position. In addition, the candidate must have good organizational skills, teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills. Typically we prefer someone with a BS or technical degree in Information Systems/Computer Science/Engineering and/or 2 years' experience in a related science/technical field minimum. Basic responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Responsible for Mission Critical Automation tooling support requiring good problem solving skills, Client/Server knowledge, troubleshooting knowledge of Windows Server OS and its components IIS, MSMQ etc., Oracle 11G database knowledge should be able to write/execute SQL commands, good documentation skills, project management skills. Will provide Point of Contact at MVE to work with MVE Infrastructure and automation systems. Need flexibility to work with people in different time zones in a truly global support group.
