Senior Linux storage driver developer

Job Description

join NSG, one of the fastest growing business groups at Intel! In this role you'll join a R&D team of top-notch engineers setting the course for the future of storage. In this position, you will join NSG's R&D department known as STG - Storage Technologies Group. You will be responsible for leading our Linux open source storage driver pathfinding and enabling.

In collaboration with the system architecture team, you will identify what Linux storage driver elements are required, architect them, and work with other Intel groups and industry partners to deliver them to the open source community. An example of our recent work in this space is NVMe over Fabrics, which was up-streamed into the Linux Kernel early in 2016.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline
  • 5+ years Linux driver development
  • Expert knowledge of C, familiarity with C++- 2+ years of experience in Open Source development with a track record of successfully contributing to a major open source software community project, including success with getting significant complex code accepted in upstream in that project of any kind, even as a volunteer.
  • Good understanding of TCP/IP network- Understanding of storage and associated industry standard interfaces is desired- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are a must and you must be able to handle ambiguity and efficiently prioritize tasks
