R and D RFIC Design Intern

Job Description

With this internship you will join Radio Circuits and Technologies Lab within Intel Labs. You will work on research related to novel circuits and architectures for next generation radio transceivers integrated in deeply-scaled CMOS technologies.

The responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Research in circuits, architectures, and design of transceiver blocks, subsystems or full systems.
  • Evaluation of multiple architecture options under given power/performance constraints for new usages enabling innovative, energy-efficient SoCs.

Developing silicon prototypes and leading/contributing to test-chips including design, verification, modeling, post-Si validation


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Requirements:

  • The candidate must be pursuing a PhD. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computational Science or any related field with RFIC design background.

Minimum 6 months of experience in/with:

  • Test-chip designed and taped-out during graduate career
  • Communication system theory and RF/analog signal processing
  • High-level RF/analog radio transceiver modeling tools like Matlab
  • Circuit design and validation tools such as Cadence Spectre

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lab experience with wafer probing and RF test techniques.

Experience PCB design, on-chip/on-package matching network design is highly preferred.
