Engineering Technician (fixed term contract)

Job Description

Thermal Analytical Laboratory Technician CMP:

The successful candidate will perform analytical tests for Chemical Mechanical Polishing CMP consumables using thermal analytical metrologies DSC, DMA, TGA, rheometry and particle size analysis tools Static Light Scattering, Dynamic Light Scattering, Stroboscopic to determine conductivity, mobility, surface charge and auto-titration analysis for particles, and electrokinetic analysis for solids based on streaming potential and streaming current measurement.

Prepare analytical samples for all tools in the lab and analyze experimental data using tool software and MS Office Excel, Power Point software. Prepare accurate and comprehensive test reports. Able to understand technical direction from engineers for multiple and diverse projects. Manage tools in the lab perform timely tool calibrations, interact with tool vendors to arrange and perform tool maintenance and/or repair. Comply with safety requirements in the lab and participate in safety audits.


Minimum requirements (must have skills):

  • BS degree with 3+ years work experience or A.A/A.S degree with 10+ years work experience in thermal analytical and particle size characterization related to CMP consumables or in a related field.
  • Applicant must have the unrestricted permanent right to work in the US.

Additional requirements (nice to have skills):

  • Candidate should have basic understanding of design of experiments DOE and statistical analysis, and working knowledge of statistical programs, such as JMP.
  • Hands-on equipment skills, experience working with and maintaining multiple analytical tools and capable of solving challenging tool issues.
  • Previous knowledge of the tool preventative maintenance PM and calibration in the high tech industry and/or research institutions.
