Emulation Modeling Engineer

Job Description

The candidate will be responsible for developing validation infrastructure for testing SSD Firmware in emulation environment. This involves working with HW engineers, porting different SSD SOC designs to emulation. Candidate will also be responsible for enabling different Bus Functional Models needed for emulation testing, developing necessary infrastructure for connecting emulators to Virtual Platforms. Candidate will also be required to enable FW validation in emulation, developing emulation test automation infrastructure for test execution. Develops preSilicon functional validation tests to verify system will meet design requirements. Creates test plans for RTL validation, defining and running system simulation models, and finding and implementing corrective measures for failing RTL tests. Analyzes and uses results to modify testing.



BSc in Electrical or Computer Engineering.

Minimum requirements

  • Candidate must have minimum 10 years of work experience related to chipset modeling in Synopsys/Mentor Emulators.  
  • Candidate must have minimum 10 years of work experience in  interfacing PCIe, DDR and other memory technologies in Emulators
  • Candidate must have minimum 10 years hands of experience in connecting different emulator/BFM interfaces to Simics Virtual Platform environment.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Candidate must have C/C++ programming skills and Python scripting skills.
  • Candidate must have Verilog, System Verilog programming skills.
  • He or she must have a good understanding ARM SOC subsystem, I/O connect technologies in particular PCIe, SMBus or I2C, cache memory concepts, DRAM operation, NAND flash operation, programming languages etc.
  • The candidate must have strong background in computer architecture, design/implementations, chipset emulation, BFM development
  • Candidate must be able to work with minimal guidance.
  • Candidate must be knowledgeable about SOC architectures. CPU, PCIe, DDR memory sub system understanding.
  • Excellent Debug Skills needed.
