Student / Intern Linux System Administration (m/f)

Job Description

A candidate for a temporary position who has not yet graduated and is working towards a relevant Bachelor's or Master degree.

The position is in the corporate IT taking care of R&D data centers globally which consist of large Linux compute server farms, Filers and virtualization environments.

Duties will include

- Installation, troubleshooting and patching of Linux systems Ubuntu, Suse, Redhat

- Creation of scripts to automate tasks

- Monitoring systems and job execution

- Administrate the job scheduling system

- Work on user tickets on requests and issues


The candidate should have a solid base knowledge of the Linux operating system, preferable Ubuntu and Suse.

Knowledge of shell scripting, Perl or Python would be of advantage.

Solid English is required since we are in an international team.

The position will give a lot of learning opportunities on hosting large compute farms, system administration and job scheduling.

We expect the candidate to have a good foundation, but no expert knowledge and willingness to learn things.

Hours are flexible and there is a possibility to partly work from remote after successful ramp up.
