Datacenter Solutions Group is looking for software engineering intern for summer 2018, to be part of a team that aims to enable NFV (Network Function Virtualization) ready platforms. This team develops and contributes code to open source communities in NFV, does performance/benchmarking on IA, works on reference platforms with Open Source software and Intel hardware building blocks in order to enable multi-tier ISVs/OEMs. This reference platform aims to accelerate deployment and understanding of NFV capabilities on Intel Architecture in telecom, cloud, enterprise and media segments.
Responsibilities may be quite diverse of a nonexempt technical nature. U.S. experience and education requirements will vary significantly depending on the unique needs of the job. Job assignments are usually for the summer or for short periods during breaks from school.
Must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 6 months experience in the following areas:
Experience in one or more language - Java, Python, Ansible, Bash and C
Understanding of virtualization technologies like KVM, docker, openshift etc.
Coursework in Network protocols, Ethernet, TCP/UDP/IP, VXLAN, VLAN, etc.
Experience or interest in open source software development/validation.
Experience or interest in performance benchmarking.
Experience with Jira team collaboration tools.
Experience with Agile methodology/process.
