This specific position is for a candidate with a research background in the following areas: computer architecture/micro-architecture, modeling of architecture workloads, performance simulation, power/performance modeling. Research is carried out in theory, design methodology, infrastructures, design frameworks, and algorithmic engines using Intel product designs as a driver. The candidate will carry out fundamental research on design and CAD technologies in the six year time frame aligned with the internal Intel research roadmap for the EDA (electronic design automation) area.
The ideal candidate should be capable of working in all domains simultaneously. This industrial research also has a significant prototyping component. From this perspective, the candidate must be an accomplished software developer conversant with state-of-the-art software engineering principles.
This position requires a large degree of independence from generation of research ideas to proliferation of these ideas into final product from through an internal path finding process. Since academic projects form a large part of our research roadmap, academic research mentoring skills are essential.
The candidate would have to maintain substantial knowledge of state-of- the-art principles and theories, and contributes to scientific literature and conferences.
