Virtualization Software Engineer

Job Description

Develops software as the primary job function Designs, develops, debugs & tests complex software in any field e.g., systems software, software development tools, applications, drivers, numerical methods, UI's, web. May work directly with companies developing and optimizing compilers, operating systems, and other software technologies. Usually holds an academic degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Computational Science.

Intel Virtualization Technology provides hardware extension to Intel architecture for efficient support of virtualization. The new hire will work with open source KVM/Xen community to enable latest cutting edge Intel Virtualization technologies. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 1. Add new hardware virtualization features support to KVM/Xen 2. Support OSVs to ensure virtualization readiness in their OS releases 3. Develop new usage models built on virtualization technologies Qualifications 1. In-depth understanding of x86 architecture 2. In-depth understanding of OS theory and implementation, Linux is preferred 3. Proficient in the C programming language 4. Knowledge of virtualization technologies and its open source implementations will be an added advantage 5. Fluent English skills including both written and oral English
