Power Lab Intern

Job Description

Come join Intel’s Software and Services Group (SSG) as a Power Lab Intern. The OTC Group within SSG is responsible for measuring the power and performance impacts of Linux kernel code before it goes upstream. This is for both production and pre-production Intel client desktop and mobile platforms. The automated test infrastructure that performs our testing is primarily written in Python. We are looking for an intern to help extend and improve this performance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Adding new features to the test infrastructure, such as adding support for new types of power meters and improving error handling and recovery

Extensive debugging, triaging, and reporting of issues found in pre-production hardware and operating system code


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Requirements:

- Must be pursuing a MS or PhD in Computer Science

- Applicants must have a legal right to work in the US without sponsorship.

- Minimum of 3 months experience with:

  • C or C++
  • Linux driver development
  • Strong debugging skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Python, bash, Perl  scripting
  • Linux kernel
  • Compiler and parser design
  • Test automation
  • Understanding of analog circuits
