Intel's Storage Technologies Group (STG) is part of Intel's NVM Solutions Group
NSG is responsible for delivering Intel's solid-state storage products spanning both 3D NAND and 3DXP media technologies. STG is responsible for pathfinding and architecture in support of NSG's SSD business objectives.
The NAND SSD architecture team is part of STG and is responsible for the architectural definition for Intel's NAND-based datacenter SSDs, architecting innovative new solutions and SSDs to meet new market requirements in a segment that is experiencing rapid growth and high pace of innovation. In addition, the team is responsible for pathfinding and technology vetting of new concepts to refine them for product inclusion. This small cohesive senior team is led by an Intel Fellow.
Responsibilities include doing architectural planning and requirements definition as well as perform customer and industry discovery to help inform those decisions. Responsibilities also include analysis and prototyping to quantify architectural choices in order to support sound architectural decisions. Prototyping, involving modification of existing SSD firmware, in order to assess potential approaches, is expected. Close collaboration with architect and firmware partners is also required to ensure comprehensive consideration in supporting decisions.
Candidate should possess a Bachelor of Science degree with at least 6 years additional experience, a Master of Science degree with at least 4 years additional experience, or a PhD with at least 2 years additional experience, in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
Non-Volatile Solutions Memory Group: The Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group is a worldwide organization that delivers NAND flash memory products for use in Solid State Drives (SSDs), portable memory storage devices, digital camera memory cards, and other devices. The group is responsible for NVM technology design and development, complete Solid State Drive (SSD) system hardware and firmware development, as well as wafer and SSD manufacturing.
