Autonomous Vehicle Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

This position is for a Mechanical Engineer within Intel's Autonomous Driving Group.

Mechanical Engineers research, design, and develop mechanical and electromechanical devices or systems. You will be creatively applying your technical know-how engineering fundamentals, scientific knowledge, systems thinking, analytical thinking, prototyping, and testing knowledge against design constraints and boundary conditions industrial design, cost, performance criteria and other design constraints to research, develop and productive mass producible solutions.

Responsibilities for this position include:

  •  development of system concepts
  • conducting design previews
  • performing system acceptance
  • resolving design and implementation issues
  • Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur
  • Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgement

This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have a BS in Mechanical or other related engineering program
  • Applicants must have a legal right to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Minimum of 3 months experience with:
    • Experience in mechanical design and problem solving
    • Applied skills in automotive and autonomous design and manufacturing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiar with modelling components software
  • Some experience with computer programs e.g. solid works
  • Participation and results in SAE or related experience
