Mask Designer

Job Description

Responsibilities include the development and preparation of multidimensional layouts and detailed drawings of semiconductor devices and microelectronic package assemblies. Responsibilities may be directed at a specific point in the design cycle, or vary as the project progresses through the design stage.  This role will review schematics and interpret them into physical layout forms as well as run verification flows. Assignments are somewhat complex in nature. Work performed within generally defined parameters. Judgment is required in resolving moderately complex problems. Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new work.  This is a 6 month contract opportunity with the possibility of extension.


Minimum Qualifications (Must Have)

-Knowledge/experience with industry based CAD layout tools: Specifically Cadence Virtuoso, VXL

-Strong background in verification Calibre DRC, LVS and others-Strong engineering problem solving and analytical skills

- Good understanding of layout tools / methodologies

-Experience of basic electronic circuit functionality and behaviors passive and active circuit structures

-Knowledge of CMOS and VLSI component design principles

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

-Experience with UNIX/Linux environments and scripting languages e.g. PERL or TCL is a plus.

-Proficient in layout assignments from upper level layout floor planning to lowest level transistor entry.

-Able to recognize failure prone circuit and layout structures, proactively work with circuit designers for guidance and produce high quality results.

-Previous Intel NSG experience

-2 year technical degree/Certification in VLSI or Physical Design/Mask Design

-Experience with layout of the standard cells for APR, custom standard cell library, scribe layouts, and runset regression test cases

-Knowledge in analog design and layout guidelines, high speed IO, matching devices, symmetrical layout, signal shielding, other analog specific guidelines

-Experienced with UNIX, as well as MS Windows and web based tools

-Ability to work with engineers on scheduling, execution, and verifying complex designs
