Software Validation and Capabilities Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for software engineer with expertise and commitment to software engineering best practices.

One of Intel's fastest-growing business groups is looking for a software engineer at our Vancouver, British Columbia facility. This position will be within the Software Validation and Capabilities (SVC) organization within the NSG. Intel's NVM Solutions Group NSG is an industry leader in Solid-State Drive SSD products and is responsible for the revolutionary new 3D XPoint technology and related Intel Optane products.

As a member of NSG's Software Validation and Capabilities Engineering Team, you will be responsible for designing and developing software solutions to facilitate the development and validation of Intel's Solid State Drives SSDs.

Qualifications

You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Relevant experience can be obtained through school work, classes and project work, internships, military training, and/ or work experience. This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.

Minimum Requirements:

  • The candidate must have a BA or BS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
  • Candidate must have the unrestricted right to work in Canada without requiring sponsorship.

Minimum 3 months of experience in the following:

  • Programing (C/C++)
  • Hardware experience including debug and validation practices.
  • Structures and modular/Object-Oriented design.
  • Software development processes and tools: version control, bug tracking, etc

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Python OO development.
  • Developing OO in a Linux and Windows environment.
  • VMWare development skills and experience .
  • Storage technology ATA/SCSI/NVMe.
  • Device-specific communication via IOCTL operations
