Software Firmware Engineer

Job Description

This position is a part of Intel's Autonomous Driving Group and is for a software engineer.  Software Engineers conduct or participate in multidisciplinary research and collaborate with design, layout and/or hardware engineers in the design, development, and utilization of productivity enhancement layout tools and design rule checkers, electronic data processing systems software.

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Determine computer user needs
  • Advise hardware designers on machine characteristics such as storage capacity, processing speed, and I/O requirements
  • Design and develop compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems
  • Develop solutions to problems utilizing formal education, judgement and formal software process

This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

 

Minimum Requirements:

- Must be pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering, or other related engineering program

- Applicants must have a legal right to work in the US without sponsorship.

- Minimum of 6 months experience with:

  • BIOS firmware development

Preferred Qualifications

  • Memory and System BIOS enabling software development
