The Storage Technologies Group is leading advanced development of disruptive new products based on Intel Optane Memory technology and custom software solutions. These new storage devices and software deliver dramatic end-user responsiveness gains while also saving power and enabling thinner, lighter and more rugged mobile systems. You will identify and architect new system features, system optimizations and implement product proof-of-concepts. Job responsibilities You will be part of a team responsible for defining and leading cross-group and cross-functional storage R&D initiatives that deliver value by improving performance, data security and reduced power consumption of Intel storage subsystems in client PCs and other devices .You will implement proof of concepts, custom tools, or simulation models in C/C++ or other high level languages with direction from other engineers in your team. You will use these tools as the basis for experiments that directly inform product architecture and design tradeoffs, including devices built using 3D X Point technology. Results are achieved by leading successful transition of these new concepts into Intel storage software or SSD products.

The candidate must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
Must have a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other science/engineering related field.
Candidate must have the unrestricted right to work in the US without requiring sponsorship
Minimum of 3+ months experience in the following areas:
C, Perl and/or Python
1 year internship experience.
The ideal candidate will have relevant experience developing or working with trace-based performance modeling tools.
Experience of Windows and Linux kernel mode driver development, esp. the storage stack, storage standards like SATA, NVMe, and eMMC, and non-volatile memory characteristics will be a significant advantage.
