Intern - FPGA Engineer

Job Description

In this position, the candidate will work at Intel Labs Mexico within the Systems Prototyping team and will contribute to performing Feasibility Studies and Proof of Concept PoC development for a variety of research agendas, related to autonomous driving, multi-agent collaboration and wireless communication, among others, providing an integrative and systems perspective.


Qualifications

The candidate should be pursuing a M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related discipline. The candidate must possess the following minimum qualifications. Preferred qualifications are a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

You must have:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and be fluent in English

- The desire to collaborate in a team environment, where we achieve the goal together

- The ability to successfully work within project timelines

- The desire to work in a startup-like environment with a tolerance of ambiguity and adaptability to change

- The ability to perform independent research work and communicate results with clarity

Minimum Technical Qualifications:

- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field

- Good level of object-oriented C/C++ programming

- Experience developing software - Experience with Embedded development

- Experience with sensors - Good knowledge of at least one Hardware Definition or System Modeling Language e.g. Verilog, System Verilog, SystemC, VHDL

- Good hardware/software integration and debugging skills

- Experience with FPGAs

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in image processing, computer vision, OpenCV

- Experience with the Robot Operating System ROS

- Experience with machine learning systems

- Experience with algorithm development using MATLAB and Simulink

- Working knowledge of RTOSs such as Green Hills, QNX, and VxWorks

- Knowledge of automotive buses and protocols, such as CAN and FlexRay

- Experienced with hardware acceleration, OpenCL, OpenVX

- Familiarity with networking and communications protocols

- Functional Safety development experience

- Familiarity with ADAS
