NSG Customer Quality and Reliability Engineer

Job Description

The Nonvolatile Memory Solutions Group Quality & Reliability NSG Q&R has 2 openings for customer interfacing roles as it relates to qualifying NSG storage solutions NAND based SSDs and Optane at Tier 1 customers.

The primary role is working with the customers' Q&R organizations to meet agreed upon qualification targets and completing the customer's qualification process.

Close communication with customer and internally with NSG product Q&R, NSG engineering, and NSG marketing is required to be successful in this role.

Some travel required to customer sites 10% of time.This role will require direct interaction with the Q&R teams of NSG's Tier 1 customers.

Successful Candidate will be able to perform the following skills:

  • Interacting with customers' quality and reliability organizations to understand customer requirements and resolve quality and reliability issues related to the product qualification and ramp of the customers platforms.
  • Ability to analyze and communicate a product's Q&R results and metrics through the development process to customers.
  • Aligning with marketing, applications, and business development teams to ensure quality and reliability goals and results of NSG products are communicated at each stage of the product life cycle with the customer.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering or Computer Science Field.
  • 2 years of experience in a technical role. Examples would include product engineering, quality and reliability, technical marketing, or similar.
  • Demonstrated work experience with Solid State Drives (SSDs) or Hard Disk Drives( HDDs).
  • Basic understanding of PC/Datacenter industry, computer architecture, and Storage SSD/HDD.
  • Good verbal communication, technical writing skills, and presentation skills
  • Ability to analyze data with common statistical tools JMP/excel and form accurate assessments of what the data indicates.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a technical role, such as product engineering, quality and reliability, technical marketing, or similar.
  • Experience in customer interfacing roles
  • Working knowledge of quality and reliability assessment tools/methods as it relates to a system or and integrated circuit component.
  • Demonstrates use of probability and statistics in previous job roles.
