Open Source Linux 3D Graphics Technician

Job Description

The Intel Open Source 3D Graphics Driver is the industry's leading open source 3D graphics driver. Based on the Mesa project https://www.mesa3d.org/, this driver powers leading Operating Systems such as Chrome OS, Steam OS, Ubuntu, and Fedora on Intel graphics. Responsible for technical functions in support of software engineering activities, such as building systems for testing, maintenance of an automated Continuous Integration system running tests, reporting results, and helping software engineers narrow down issues leading to bugs. Conducts engineering tests and detailed experimental testing to collect data or assist in research and debug work. May perform operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Assignments are semi-routine in nature.


Qualifications

You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience would be obtained through your educational level research and/or relevant job/internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Computer Science with 2+ years of experience or 4+ years of relevant experience experience in lieu of a degree
  • 5 years of related experience in Linux open source software integration, and test harness development which includes:
  • 2 years of experience in scripting languages1 year of experience developing in C

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of OpenGL, OpenGL ES, EGL, or Vulkan 3D APIs. Embedded Linux development, debug & test
  • A track record of successfully contributing to a major open source software community project.
