Wireless Validation Engineering Manager

Job Description

Manage Bluetooth verification/validation/QA team of software professional who are responsible for Intel’s BT solutions in the Windows, Linux, Android, Chrome, OSX and IOS space.  Experience in software and firmware integration and testing from the planning stage all the way through product end of life cycle.  A group that is responsible for delivering results over many areas of the software lifecycle: design, developing, debugging, validating, optimizing, benchmarking, customer engagement and product support. This might include systems software, drivers, high performance computing, development tools, enterprise applications, consumer applications and user interfaces.  Responsible for Intel’s Connectivity solution quality.

Plans and provides resources for and directs activities in engineering function to meet schedules, standards, and cost. Cultivates and reinforces appropriate group values, norms and behaviors. Identifies and analyzes problems, plans, tasks, and solutions. Can Do attitude and growth mindset is a must.  Provides guidance for employee development, performance, and productivity issues. Plans and schedules daily tasks, uses judgement on a variety of problems requiring deviation from standard practices.

10y+ of experience in SW/FW development and/or verification/validation/QA in Wireless
5y+ of experience people management for large teams; grow a team of highly effective, highly innovative software engineers

5y+ SCRUM Master/Agile, SDLC and Product Management

Minimum Bachelor, preferably Master's in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field

Must demonstrate hands-on testing knowledge of white box and black box testing techniques

Must have sufficient software skills to implement test harnesses and test automation, including fluency in scripting languages such as Python, C/C++ and C#

Experience in software development for testing with a proven track record of delivering production quality software products in a fast paced environment.

Set the technology vision and strategy for diagnostic systems, powered by big data and constant connectivity. Design and develop software that achieves this vision. 

Lead, and contribute to technical requirements, architecture, and interface design documents.

Survey requirements and plans, and remain coordinated with, allied groups in Software Development, Product Development, Validation or Manufacturing.

Preferred skills and experience:

In-depth understanding of both Bluetooth Classic and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) protocol

Extended Bluetooth testing experience

In depth understanding of ALM solutions

Experience working with Bluetooth protocol analyzer or packet sniffers

Familiarity with Bluetooth SIG certification and experience working with BQB is a plus
