The Distributed Ledgers Research in group in Intel Labs is tasked with improving reliability, resiliency and scalability for distributed ledgers and blockchain technologies. Technologies developed by the group form the basis for platforms such as Hyperledger Sawtooth, a distributed ledger project in the Linux Foundation Hyperledger Working Group.
We are looking to hire a full-time researcher to develop algorithms, protocols, and distributed system architectures for a new generation of trusted distributed systems. Potential topics of research may include encrypted storage services, cryptographic notary services, or consensus protocols.
As a Researcher with Intel labs, you will have an opportunity to: initiate the design, development, execution and implementation of scientific research projects to fuel Intel's growth in the areas of computing, communication, technology and manufacturing and new business opportunity. You will investigate the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions and products typically 7+ years prior to landing on a product road map while maintaining substantial knowledge of state of the art principles and theories, and contributing to scientific literature and conferences.
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences. This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.
Inside this Business Group
- The candidate must have a Ph.D. degree with or comparable experience in Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering with a focus on distributed systems, security or cryptography.
Minimum 1 year of experience in the following:
- Experience building distributed systems.
- Use of cryptography to ensure system integrity.
- Developing and executing a research plan.
• Familiarity with Intel's Software Guard Extensions SGX.
• Comfort with distributed systems performance optimization.
• Experience developing in Python.
