Modem Technical SW Project Manager

Job Description

Manages programs of large may be global scope, impact and complexity through all phases of the lifecycle. Manages interdependencies and integration among multiple projects, teams, and stakeholders. Has decision making authority at the program level. Handles cross organizational programs of broad scope and high complexity or of broad scope and moderate complexity usually managing a core team that manages functionally specific teams. Sets direction for programs directly related to corporate policies or important business operations to meet strategic goals of significance. Leads the core team and guides performance of functional teams. Is the key interface with stakeholders and leadership internally and externally. Assigns overall tasks to others managing general areas of responsibility in support of program goals. Exercises judgment and discretion to develops solutions, remove obstacles and redefine approaches. Recommends or sets business strategies or corporate policies and deviates as appropriate. Oversees identification of tasks and research, dependencies, costs assigns resources, and communicates expectations to core team members. Creates/tracks/adjusts the program schedule. Assesses risks and identifies solutions to timely, efficient achievement of program goals Ensures that quality standards and budget constraints are met. Ensures appropriate progress against schedule and takes remedial action as appropriate. Prioritizes utilization of resources with other functions. Influences business unit or crossorganizational strategies relevant to program goals. Has advanced understanding of the technical concepts, architecture, systems, development methods, and disciplines associated with the defined program, and utilizes knowledge to accelerate project completion.

Job Description:To support our cellular development and customer engagement, we are looking for talented and experienced candidates interested in technical cellular modem SW project management. As technical SW Project Manager inside the Cellular R&D Engineering Group, you will work with our business development, system engineering, PHY FW, protocol stack, platform SW and HW teams on product definition, planning, drive development/execution, system verification pre-silicon, post silicon bring up, functional, product certification and customer engagement to commercialize Intel cellular products.Responsibilities will include but not limited to:Manage project from pre-silicon, post silicon, commercialization through customer product launching and maintenanceIdentifies tasks, creates/tracks/adjusts project's schedule, integration & bring up plan determines dependencies, sets priorities, identifies/manage risks & mitigation, runs CCBAssesses risks and identifies issues and solutions to timely and efficiently achieve program goals or project objectives while maintaining quality standards.Coordinates and drive execution multiple cross functional teams in multiple sites/geos. Monitors progress against schedule and determines and takes remedial action as appropriate in order to meet project milestonesUnderstands the technical concepts, architecture, systems, development methods, and disciplines associated with modem product development and applies in project planning and risk managementQualificationsBachelor of Science degree or a Master's degree in Electrical/Information/Computer Engineering with:8+ years of experience in technical project management in wireless and baseband/modem platform areas.5+ years experienced in embedded software development of mobile devicesExperienced in baseband modem, cellular, wireless development and commercialization including chipset certificationAdditional Skills:Knowledgeable in communication, cellular protocols GSM / GPRS / EDGE / UMTS /CDMA / LTE and Internet protocolsGood interpersonal, communication, analytical, and multi-tasking skills. Goal oriented and focused on meeting challenging deadlinesStrong experiences in system integrationCapable of understand complex technical issues at system level and learn new technologies quickly.Some travel will be required
