Job DescriptionWe are looking for 3G/LTE/5G User Plane software engineers to join next generation cellular protocol stack development at Intel.Responsibilities include:- Design, development, integration of protocol stack software for wireless modem and prototype platforms.- Implement new 3GPP L2/User Plane protocol stack features in baseband modem designs to meet functional, quality, performance, footprint and power requirements- Working in an embedded SW development environment with RTOS running on high performance processors.- Applying software problem solving skills to modem subsystems involving L2-Upper layers ,L2-PHY and usage of hardware acceleration. - Development and enhancement of module / component tests on a powerful host / virtual prototype test system- Analysis of customer software defects, followed by implementation of bug-fixes or enhancements to the system
Minimum Requirements: Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline, with main subjects and work experience in academic or internship projects related to wireless communications and embedded software engineering. Ability to work in a structured, solution oriented and open minded working environment.Strong verbal and written communication skills, good understanding of software development methodologies with at least:- 4+ years in 3G/LTE/5G or other Wireless protocol stack development - 4+ years of solid and proven software development skills and coding practices in embedded C/C++- Good analytical and problem solving skills- Good system understanding of 3GPP control and user protocol stack architecture and interfaces- Experience in 3GPP 3G/4G/5G feature design and development mainly PDCP, RLC and MAC protocol stacks but also knowledge of L1/PHY is beneficial. - Experience with developing software for a multi-core architecture and time critical functions in embedded systems.- Good embedded debugging skills and familiarity with protocol trace & analysis tools- Experience with of TCP/IP protocol trace analysis- Experience with software development and configuration management tools i.e. GITAdditional Preferred Qualifications: - Proven ability to work across organizational, functional and cultural boundaries.- Risk taking to explore new possibilities for improvement and innovation.- Ability to debug on HW using Lauterbach debugging tools.- Basic understanding , controlling & configuration of ASIP cores.- Experience with virtual prototyping environments- Good knowledge of Python / PerlInside this Business Group
