The platform Architect's primary focus is looking at the current retail Point of Sale POS Devices to an environment based on client-server model and work on a transition strategy/program to re-architect the POS to work on Intel's Responsive Retail Platform RRP. The technologies to utilize are Thin Client Technology, VDI, Virtualization through Docker or containers, Cloud Software POS. Key Intel platforms expected to connect to RRP are Fixed POS, Mobile POS, Digital Signs, and security cameras. Engaging with the Eco-system will be a part of the role to influence POS ISVs to work on Intel's RRP.
Leads the platform definition, development, and deployment strategy. Functions as the xgroup decision maker across the Platform Product Life Cycle Strategic, Execution, Business. Responsible for total platform investment /return and accountable for design wins and market success of the platform.
