Data Center & HPC Engineering Manager - APJ

Job Description

Job Description: In this role, you will be leading a highly technical data center application enabling and High performance computing HPC software application engineering team for APJ region. This particular role requires both people management and technical management. You would be required to manage a team of software professionals including but not limited to engineers, architects, technical writers and technical consultants who are responsible for delivering results over many areas of the software lifecycle: design, developing, debugging, validating, and optimization, customer engagement and product support. This might include systems software, drivers, high performance computing, development tools, enterprise applications, consumer applications or user interfaces. You may also be required to provide architectural and technical guidance, and ensure that sound engineering practices are followed. You would need to give direction and goals to the group and interacts with stakeholders both internal and external.


Qualifications: - B.E/B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science or equivalent degree or combination of experience and at least 12+ years of experience in the industry and at least 5+ years of managing complex programs and/or teams - Highly disciplined individual who has proven ability to set goals and execute - Extensive experience in managing complex programs involving cross-functional teams which are based in multiple geographic locations - Experience in working with external customers ex: ISV, end customers, educational institutions is a MUST - Extensive knowledge/experience in either HPC or data center big data technologies, enterprise software is a MUST - Knowledge on Deep learning/Machine learning, working with CSP Cloud service providers is definitely an added advantage - Proven experience managing a team of high achievers and who can guide and mentor software engineers in their career - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, highly organized with creativity to manage complexity - Ability to make rapid decisions based on data, team collaboration, and input to meet business objectives - Self-starter, self-motivator, and highly adaptable and finally a great role model to the team Responsibilities: - Plan and manage day-to-day activities with engineering and cross-functional teams - Performance management, career development conversations with the team - Work with stake holders across geography, develop long lasting relationship and developing a working model is required - Work with BU's and WW teams to define goals for the team, track them on regular basis and deliver - Look at future trends and changes in the industry and develop resource plans, changes in resource allocation to meet goals
