GNSS RF System Engineer for Wireless Connectivity Solutions Group

Intel's Wireless Connectivity Solutions's vision is that EVERYONE and EVERYTHING will best CONNECT with Intel Connectivity.  We are working on delivering world-class wireless connectivity technologies such as Wi-Fi, global navigation satellite system (GNSS) and location, Bluetooth, and Wireless Gigabit (WiGig).  

One of the AMAZING groups is - the GNSS Core products (GCP). This group develops and ships cutting edge GNSS solutions, from prototyping to discrete Silicon (SoC) to full product integration. Products developed by Intel GCP are designed to be integrated in high-end mobile products in the market.

We are looking for an experienced RF System engineer for a challenging and fascinating position.

About you:

As an RF system engineer you are expected to be a team player, to lead architecture decisions, requirements and specification, and to work hands-on on HW platforms and devices.

You will collaborate with many interfaces RF design team, algorithm team, platform teams, system team, firmware team, internal and external customers.

You will be responsible for:

  • Architecture and partitioning between analog and digital parts of the receiver chain.
  • Frequency planning
  • Multi radio platform co-existence analysis, requirements and mitigation methods
  • RF design specifications
  • HW and BOM requirements, including FE, reference clocks, filters, power supply,
  • Review HW layout, schematics and approved component lists
  • RF programming specifications

Qualifications

  • B.Sc in electrical engineering. M.Sc - advantage.
  • At least 7 years of experience in RF and HW development for wireless systems
  • Experience in architecture or design of RFIC
  • Hands-on experience with HW platforms, including characterization, debugging and field modifications
  • Experience using CAD tools for schematics and layout PADS, Cadence allegro, others
  • Experience using CAD tools for RF circuit simulations ADS, Cadence
  • Experience using MatlabKnowledge and experience in programming. Preference to CBroad knowledge in working with test equipment
  • Desirable: Familiarity with Various GNSS systems GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, SBAS, QZSSFamiliarity with GNSS simulators, preferably Spirent
  • Familiarity with use of TCXO, XTALs
  • People and Business: Ability to work autonomously as well as a member of a small team 2-10 people essential.
  • Good communication skills
  • Quality documentation & status reporting
  • The ability to manage workload to deliver results on time

Satellite navigation systems experience is an advantage
