Strategic Planning Director for Networking Software - RSD

Job Description

Be a part of the Intel’s Ethernet Networking Division (ND) Strategic Planning team and be at the center of defining future Ethernet products and solutions for data centers.  You will play a central role in helping ND develop new datacenter Ethernet opportunities across a diverse set of market verticals, including cloud, comms/networking, storage, and enterprise.  You will be part of defining the larger Intel Ethernet roadmap through ownership of SW roadmap spanning multiple product generations. Furthermore, you will help develop business strategies, as well as recommend investments and partnerships to execute your vision.

Key job activities:

  • Lead use cases, deployment models and market requirements for software capabilities that are necessary across future server Ethernet networking solutions.
  • Deeply understand emerging business priorities and use cases (cloud, enterprise, etc.).
  • Understand programmable HW (FPGA) and determine what software (tools, SDK, new performance measurement/analysis tools, etc.) is needed to be successful in market.
  • Identify and prioritize a list of pathfinding projects to accelerate adoption of Intel solutions in market.
  • Rationalize and prioritize software investments, such as in DPDK, Ethernet drivers/software, CPU-integrated and FGPA-based network accelerators.
  • Determine and represent priority, cost and ROI for individual software capabilities. Represent SW in various planning, marketing, future product discussions.
  • Drive virtual team of SW subject matter experts and own overall software roadmap that rationalizes and prioritizes software investments, such as DPDK, Ethernet drivers/software, SW used within CPU- and FPGA-based network accelerators.
  • Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations on which to pursue.
  • Work closely with customers and partners to collect future product requirements.
  • Manage complex feature, schedule, cost, and performance tradeoffs.
  • Coordinate strategies with product planning and marketing teams.
  • Build expert knowledge of the datacenter industry and competition.
