Power Software Lead

Job Description

The candidate for this position will lead the Power SW team organization reporting to VP of Modem Platform SW Group in Intel Communications Devices Group. The team is chartered with optimization of power consumption for all Intel Modem platforms including power drivers, measurements, optimizations, integration and commercialization to assigned power targets. This person lead a team of 30 to 50 engineers expert in embedded systems power optimizations based in US, India and Germany and is expected to have a comprehensive understanding of modem software and its interface to the baseband and RF HW.The applicant must also provide technical guidance and oversight to the teams who are accountable for timely power related software deliverables to customer, both in design, planning as well as during the project execution phase. The Power SW lead with his team will be also accountable to cover the all SW aspects and work closely with the respective systems engineering and hardware engineering functions to ensure power consumption targets are met via SW / algorithm changes while keeping functionality intact to the extent possible. The team will continuously analyze competitor scenarios by way of competitive testing and will influence required trade-off together with KPI leads and modem architects. The tasks involve working with firmware leads, SW and system engineers, modem architects protocol Stack, CoreBSP, Platform Test and RF/PMU teams to deliver robust solutions in our modem products that exceed our customers' expectations


Qualifications

-Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent with minimum of 15 years overall experience-5+ years of experience managing and leading large teams in power management, software, design, system architecture, modem platform or SoC development -A leader and strong team player able to work with cross-functional or multiple Geo based teams and comfortable with matrixed organizations.-Able to lead and provide clear technical direction for internal and external partners/customers and drive execution from distributed technical teams-Ability to dive deep to understand issues technically and summarize key points to the management for quick action.-High energy, willing to take challenges in a fast paced environment meeting project schedules with collaborative attitude and good command of presentation and customer handling.
