Should be accredited with a BEng in Science/ Physics/ Chemistry or Instrumentation Trade Cert.


  • Minimum 3 years + working in a regulated environment such as Semiconductor Manufacturing or Pharmaceutical.

Job Description

In this position, you will be a technician working on the facilities systems on the Ireland Campus as part of the Ireland Corporate Services group reporting to the UPW area manager. The Analytical Technician will work as part of the Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) group to support a wide variety of metrology systems. The person will be required to carry out calibrations, investigate instrument failures, and complete preventative and corrective maintenance activities in a timely fashion and complete reagent change outs on all UPW metrology. The person will be required to liaise with UPW engineers and technicians on a daily basis to resolve any issues that arise, ensuring that critical factory parameters remain within specification. The person will be required to order consumables in a timely fashion and ensure that existing consumable stock is fit for purpose. The person should also be familiar with industry standard calibration standards, procedures and ISO quality assurance.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Knowledge of Sodium, DO2, DO3, DN2, TOC, Resistivity, Temperature, Particle Counters, Chlorine, Hardness, Turbidity, pH and Conductivity analyzers would be a distinct advantage.
  • A basic knowledge of PLC, SCADA and networking systems is required.
  • Experience in using maintenance management systems (Maximo).
  • Knowledge of UPW systems would be an advantage.
  • Should be proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel
  • Should have proven problem solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Role model safety and incident free culture.
  • Technical support for material, spare parts, supplier issues, service contracts.
  • Ability to work with minimum direction, self-motivator with own initiative.

    Additional experience that would be an advantage:

  • Excellent analytical aptitude for engineering problem solving and innovative design engineering
  • Project management, verbal communications and presentation skills.
  • A good understanding of material & chemical properties, automation, quality systems and statistical analysis 
  • Excellent computer skills
