Vehicle Lab Manager

Job Description
Intel Automated Driving Group ADG is looking for a Senior Automated Driving Vehicle Lab Manager for Intel's new Silicon Valley Autonomous Driving Innovation Center in San Jose. * Lead a team of electro/mechanical engineers and technicians working in the vehicle lab on the vehicle outfitting with sensors and compute platforms. * Manage the Intel vehicle fleet and related fleet management SW and database. * Manage the outsourcing process for the data collection with the Intel fleet. * Consolidating and defining the ADG business unit requirements for the vehicle lab infrastructure to optimize the workflows in the vehicle lab for data-collection, vehicle outfitting with sensors and compute platforms, data analysis, AD tests and demonstrations, etc. * Overlooking the design and construction for the planned vehicle lab expansions incl. show-room and data center and lead the involved teams from Intel facility CS and Intel IT and associated design and construction firms. * Support various demo and workshop events with customers, partners, media, analysts and executives.


* BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or related field * Several years of related work experience in the fields of sensor and compute HW platforms * Experience in defining workflow processes * Experience in building labs or similar in collaboration with facility and IT * Experience in lab management and outsourcing * Design thinking and a passion for creating a modern workplace incl. look & feel * Experience in disciplinary leadership of engineering teams * Familiar with sensor modalities used in robotics and automated driving applications Camera/Vision, RADAR, LIDAR, INS/IMU * Familiar with commonly used approaches for autonomous systems sensor data processing, data fusion, scene analytics, scene interpretation, behavior prediction, trajectory planning, etc. * Experience with CarMaker * Familiar with Functional Safety * Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated technical leadership experience * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills * Ability to influence peers of technical and management background * Ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-site environment * Ability to travel domestically and internationally to further technical knowledge, work with global engineering teams, and work with global suppliers and manufacturers
