Job Description
Description: As the Platform Technology and Systems Engineering Director in the Programmable Platform Engineering PPE team you will lead the team responsible for package development for our FPGA components as well as defining and optimizing out platform design envelope to allow for seamless TTM integration for our customers. The role requires an organizational leader with proven history of guiding package design, platform electrical, and systems thermal direction and ability to provide requirements to silicon and software teams. An ideal candidate will have comprehension of technical requirements/constraints of a market such as cloud, network infrastructure, or autonomous driving and expertise in driving system architecture decisions to maximize value of silicon products for a specific market. The PPE group is part of the larger Programmable Solutions Engineering PSE organization within PSG. The successful candidate will: work closely with their development counterparts in Technology Development and Silicon design to drive state of the art FPGA solutions. The successful candidate will plan, resource and direct activities in the Engineering function to meet schedules, standards and cost. You will cultivate and reinforce appropriate group values, norms and behaviors identify and analyze problems, plans, tasks, and solutions establish and oversee standards of excellence for group performance provide guidance on employee development, performance, and productivity issues. Responsibilities include: Developing a site strategy and vision for the Silicon Package Solutions, and Platform Engineering elements. Establishing and leading a team of platform architects. Experience in mixed signal board designs, packaging and thermal technologies, Signal Integrity, and Power Delivery is desired. Interface with manufacturing partners on DFM and manufacturability also a plus. Managing all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes in alignment with PPE Engineering direction and commitments. Developing the organization for sustained growth, and developing people for technical leadership and strong managers within the site. Process improvement to improve efficiencies, in line with PPE Engineering goals for productivity & cost. Actively engaging with the leadership team to solve on-going product execution and organization challenges. Proactively managing stakeholders in the product/IP development process with clear decision making and crisp communication to ensure the organization meets committed budget and plans.


BSEE with 10+ years of experience. Advanced degrees MSEE, MBA are a plus. Experience in all aspects of computer systems engineering and architecture including hardware design requirements and specification management, RTL design, modern verification methodologies, DFT, SoC implementation place and route implementation, emulation, and post silicon validation. Experience in hard IP engineering, analog, and logic design desired. Demonstrated strengths in stakeholder management, communication skills. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in managing a large 50+ person organization with evidence of ability to manage a larger team in the future if needed. Able to manage a variety of complex functions and teams supporting a diverse FPGA product portfolio that span a wide range of markets from communications, embedded technology, industrial uses to data center servers, automotive and military applications. Role-models sound judgment in planning and decision-making.
