Architecture Research Scientist
Microarchitecture Research Lab MRL is a world-class research lab that excels at novel product development through fundamental architecture research and transformative design exploration techniques. MRL in Bangalore India, is actively hiring Research Scientists. The India Lab, in collaboration with MRL-US and Intel CPU product architecture teams, spearheads advanced research of x86 microprocessor Cores. The intent is to reposition the trajectory of today's CPU Cores towards much greater power and area efficiency while delivering industry-leading performance. MRL-India is also researching breakthroughs in key emerging domains of human and machine vision. Algorithm analysis, hardware-software partitioning and energy/latency efficient microarchitecture and design are key aspects in this line of advanced development. The third research pillar of the Lab is the evaluation of emerging memory technologies and their efficient usage in on-die and off-die cache and memory hierarchies. In all these areas, MRL researchers work to aggressively co-optimize the microarchitecture and design with Intel's leading and upcoming technology nodes. Main responsibilities include power/area/performance driven architecture, microarchitecture development and optimization. Logic design, RTL-to-GDS synthesis and layout optimizations, and FPGA emulation of key IPs/SoCs are other highly adjacent activities. All the Research Scientists will advance the state-of-the-art in deep collaboration with product architecture/design teams while also contributing to scientific literature/conferences and developing Intellectual Property.
Inside this Business Group
Must have a PhD or advanced MS in EE/CS . Architecture and microarchitecture expertise is a requirement. Experience with low-power VLSI design/verification and RTL-to-GDS flow/methodology is highly desirable. Strong software expertise in C++/Perl/Python and experience building architecture simulators or system software is very relevant to most of these roles.
