We are looking for a Master student for an internship for topics related to LTE receiver algorithm development.In a receiver for mobile communications including a receiver for LTE and 5G, an estimate of the time-direction autocorrelation is used to adapt the time-direction channel estimation filter coefficients. Since the propagation channel is time-varying, the channel estimation filter coefficients need to be frequently updated based on a limited number of reference symbols. Moreover, reference symbols are non-equidistant and may not be available periodically. Target of the work is to derive, study and evaluate concepts for initializing and updating channel estimation filter coefficients based on sparse and non-equidistant samples available in the LTE downlink. The internship is planned for a duration of 6 months. We aim to continue with the outcome of the internship as part of a Master Thesis work. Therefore, we are looking for a intern, who would like to do an intern but later on also a master thesis with us.

You should have a B.Sc. and currently be enrolled into studies towards Master degree in Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics. We expect a solid background in communication theory, signal processing, and mathematics.In addition, you should have a good understanding and preferably first experiences in programming complex algorithms in Matlab, and C.
