Director Media New Usages

Job Description
Plans, provides resources for and directs activities in engineering function to meet schedules, standards, and cost. Cultivates and reinforces appropriate group values, norms and behaviors. Identifies and analyzes problems, plans, tasks, and solutions. Provides guidance on employee development, performance, and productivity issues. Plans and schedules daily tasks, uses judgement on a variety of problems requiring deviation from standard practices. Inadequacies and erroneous decisions would cause moderate inconvenience and expense.


Media is key to the success of Intel Gen processor graphics. As the evolvement of media usages in PC client market to deliver higher resolution, wider dynamic range, higher quality and performance, we are also extending the support to new business segments including IoT and server. As a Direct of media new usages, you will be expected to understand and anticipate the new media usages in all these market segments and explore engineering options to best support them. This will include the responsibility of building and directing a small engineering team consisting of senior media driver and kernel developers, developing internal tools and PoC Proof of Concepts to identify SW stacks improvements and value-add, guiding the land on production, and supporting HW iterations. You are expected to team up closely with media system arch, media SW uArch and peers in adjacent components OCL, and display for example to bridge and streamline architecture, design and implementation.
