LTE Base Station Staff Engineer

Job Description
Covers the complete semiconductor value chain for chip implementation. Works closely with frontend wafer technology and backend package technology experts. Is able to understand critical dependencies across domains. Conducts or participates in multidisciplinary research in the design, development, testing and utilization of information processing hardware and/or electrical components, mechanisms, materials, and/or circuitry, processes, packaging, and cabinetry for central processing units CPUs and/or peripheral equipment. Prepares specifications, evaluates vendors, and analyzes test reports. Ensures products conform to standards and specifications. Develops plans and cost estimates and assesses projects to analyze risk. Develops procedures, analysis and design for computer components, products, and systems. Initiates, guides, and coordinates overall design and development of new ideas and products. Responds to customer/client requests


This position is for a senior or staff level software engineer on LTE Test Base Station development team. This team is creating a LTE evolved Node B eNB that will be used to test Intel's LTE chipset. This candidate will be part of the Virtual Platforms team and will work on developing various MAC/RLC/PDCP/NAS level software features in the Base Station. Specifically, they will provide in-depth technical architecture,design, debug, and code level support to internal engineering teams. The candidate needs to exercise keen troubleshooting skills to rapidly isolate reported problems. Software Engineers are directly involved in customer support for these activities.Responsibilities:Software Engineers on the LTE evolved Node B eNB team are responsible for the design and implementation of the latest LTE features for L2 and L3 layers. Most features require interfacing with LTE Modem, as well as upper layer protocol stacks. Intel internally leverages this solution for verification of modem products both pres-silicon tests & for regression tests. Software Engineers are directly involved in customer support for these activities. This position involves extensive C/C++ design/development targeted for Linux OS. LTE, Wireless Communications, Multithreaded programming, and RTOS knowledge is a must. Software Engineers are involved in all stages of software development life cycle and work closely with engineers from Modem, Systems, and Test teams.
